No surprise here, but at Keep Philadelphia Beautiful we believe every day is Earth Day.
That said, we celebrated our favorite holiday this year by teaming up with our friends at The Nature Conservancy and Hunting Park United for a good old fashioned cleanup. And better yet, we helped kick off this year’s Philadelphia Science Festival.
So how’d we do?
Seventy volunteers collected 80 bags of debris from around the park, painted the benches at the entrance to the Hunting Park Recreation Center, and planted and weeded in the park’s beautiful orchard with the Philadelphia Orchard Project. Not bad for a day’s work (just see for yourself by checking out the pictures here)! And we couldn’t have done it without our friends and sponsors at The Dow Chemical Company, Recyclebank and Media Star Promotions.
