2016 was quite a year for Keep Philadelphia Beautiful – we’re still catching our breath! But now that 2017 is underway, we’re proud to introduce last year’s annual report.
We pride ourselves on the work our organization, our friends and partners and – perhaps most importantly – our city’s dedicated volunteers put into keeping Philadelphia clean and green. With the help of our fellow urban stewards, in 2016 we were able to:
- Remove 4,640 pounds of trash and debris from various Philadelphia public spaces
- Raise over $23,000 in seed funding for community beautification and education programs
- Engage 1801 youth through presentations on urban sustainability
- Distribute 50 free trees to communities around the city
- Hold 21 community workshops and events to educate citizens on the importance of litter
prevention and green initiatives
These accomplishments are just a few of many that we were able to achieve this year with your help and the help of our partners. On behalf of everyone at Keep Philadelphia Beautiful, and our wonderful city, we thank you sincerely. Together, we can make 2017 an even greater year for Philadelphia’s sustainability, education and urban greening programs.
