We had an awesome weekend helping to Keep Philadelphia Beautiful – and we just had to share it with you!

On Saturday morning we teamed up with our friends at the Fairmount Civic Association for a great neighborhood cleanup. Thirty volunteers came out and helped remove 75 bags of trash, recyclables and leaves. (Remember folks – leaves are compostable!) You can see pictures here.

Over the past six months, we have had over 100 individuals volunteer at one of our cleanups, and picked up close to 300 bags of litter. We couldn’t be more proud and grateful to our volunteers and partner organizations! As always, you can contact us at 215-854-4000 or michelle@keepphiladelphiabeautiful.org to find out how you can get involved.

And as if that wasn’t enough, we were thrilled to help out at today’s tree giveaway in South Philly with the City’s Department of Parks and Recreation. Philadelphia residents can receive free yard trees through the City’s TreePhilly program – which you can learn more about here (be sure to check out this video as well) – and we are proud to do our part to help the program to continue to be an amazing success. We’ll be at next weekend’s tree giveaways too, and we hope to see you there!
