January 7, 2019 – Keep Philadelphia Beautiful has announced that Kelly Offner has been named the next Executive Director of the organization. Following an exhaustive and highly competitive search, the Board of Directors selected Offner to build on the five-year transformative tenure and leadership of Michelle Feldman.

“Critical for Keep Philadelphia Beautiful to fulfill its mission of convening, equipping and empowering people to use community beautification to achieve vibrant neighborhoods across the city, Kelly brings exceptional leadership experience in the areas of community cleanups, public-private partnerships, volunteerism, cause-based marketing and events planning,” said Justin Land, Board Chair, Keep Philadelphia Beautiful.  “As we look to the future, the Board is excited and pleased to have Kelly accept this challenging role.”

“I am truly honored to lead this great Keep America Beautiful affiliate in the city I call home,” said Offner. “I look forward to working with Keep Philadelphia Beautiful’s Board of Directors, and with our partners, volunteers and neighbors in advancing the organization’s critical mission.”

Prior to joining Keep Philadelphia Beautiful, Offner worked in a variety of operations roles at United By Blue (UBB) from 2014 – 2016 before serving as UBB’s Head of Cleanups from 2016-2018. During that time, Offner led the growth of UBB’s waterway cleanups program to 48 states and Europe, and organized the removal of 1.5 million pounds of trash from U.S. waterways.

Offner was recently recognized by Rubicon Global, the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School’s Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership and Goodr as an inaugural “Waste Fit Champion,” a program designed to recognize the best sustainability leaders that are cutting down on waste, improving recycling and delivering on sustainability at their respective organizations.

Offner is a graduate of Temple University, where she received her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism.  She serves on the Board of Directors of Youth Volunteer Corps of Greater Philadelphia, a volunteer organization that aims to create opportunities to address community needs and to inspire a lifetime commitment to service in Philadelphia youth. In her spare time, Offner enjoys volunteering for the annual Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival, rock climbing, yoga and exploring the city on-foot.
